Current Works By Freddie Trevino & I at Third Eye Gallery
July 1 - August 1 2019
It was the tail end of my tattoo apprenticeship at Last Angels Tattoo Co. in Dallas in 2013, when Freddie Trevino (pictured below), encouraged me to oil paint with him. I had never used oils before and actually despised mediums that required the use of a brush; timid to leave the comfort of Prisma and graphite pencils, curiosity urged me to give it a try. In 2016, after a slow transition into exclusively painting with oils, I made the earliest works in this exhibition, “World of Forms” and “World of Being”.
Freddie has since ventured on his own to eventually open and own Third Eye Gallery in the design district of Dallas. Discrete on the outside, Third Eye is split into two unique atmospheres functioning, primarily, as an appointment only tattoo studio and an intimate venue to show art. Since May of this year we have been working to fill the gallery with what currently represents us as artists. Having spent time on our own over the past three years building separate bodies, we are proud to come together and present our most complementary works.
